Francis Morgan Ayodélé Thompson, CBE (born 30 July 1958^[ii]), known every bit Daley Thompson, is a British sometime decathlete. 1987-1990 Defeat and injury [edit]

Thompson was a natural showman who endeared himself to the British public with his irreverent personality and anti-establishment mental attitude.^[xvi] He won the BBC Sports Personality of the Year honor in 1982, and was appointed an MBE in the 1983 New year Honours,^[17] and promoted to the CBE in the 2000 New Yr Honours.^[eighteen]

At the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, Thompson, who had but won his 2nd Olympic decathlon gold medal, wore a T-shirt that read "IS THE World'S SECOND GREATEST ATHLETE GAY?".
